Vijayadashami also known as Dussehra, is a major Hindu festival celebrated at the end of Navaratri every year. It is a celebration of the victory of good over evil. The celebration is carried on for ten days, the last four days being the most important. Navaratri means nine nights, and on the tenth day, Goddess Durga who is worshipped throughout the nine days is immersed in holy water after pooja.
Students kept books and musical instruments for pooja, and on the last four days, pooja was conducted in the morning and evening at our school. Students presented various programmes like dances, skits, speech, and songs in the morning assembly. There were special prayers and offerings to Goddess Saraswathi during those days, and Kolu Bommai was kept on the stage.
